Apollo e-Liquids

First time I tasted Apollo e-liquids, I didn't even want to write about them. All I kept saying was buy their hardware, forget about the rest. That was more than two years ago and a lot has happened since then.

Update 2018

The review you see below was from 2014. I started following Apollo eliquids  since late 2012 when they didn't seem to have their own ejuice facility. A lot has changed since then, their selection has grown wider with a part of it that had to be developed to accommodate new sub ohm vaping.

This collection I'm writing about here is more suited for classical vaping, using anything from CE4, Evods and Aspire clearomizers for classic eGo and Evod batteries or variable voltage ones like Twist or Vision Spinners.

In a nutshell, today all Apollo e-Liquids are US made, manufactured in their own Northern California facility adhering to the food industry standards and supervised by people who are both avid vapers and experienced chemists with BSc and PhD. Of course this all accounts for a rapid increase in quality with several e-liquid series, each excellent in its own way.

PG/VG ratio is 50/50 with both components USP grade, food safe ingredients and pure lab grade nicotine.  You can order any of them in the nic strength range 0-6-12-18mg.

There's a large selection to choose from. In the links given below, you can order any flavor that suits you or decide for 5 or 10 bottle packs of your choice.

So, these are the five ejuices we have tasted and this is our list, according to how much we liked them.

  • French Vanilla
  • Menthol
  • Classic Tobacco Menthol
  • Classic Tobacco
  • Pinacolada

Before we say anything else, just this: all five juices fall into the group good to excellent. So you won't make a mistake if you buy any of them.

Apollo e-liquids, one by one

Apollo e-liquid review

French Vanilla is not only the top of this list, but also one of my all time favorites. Creamy on the inhale, decent throat hit for this kind of liquid, vanilla cupcake on the exhale, mildly sweet, nothing over the top.  Smells deliciously, everybody in the house is asking where the cakes are. This ejuice belongs to the group of affordable, yet excellent e-juices and I'd recommend it to everybody. For half the price you'd pay for, say, Five Pawns or Driptonic which you can read about in  our reviews, you get what seems to be not a iota less good e-liquid.

Menthol is a nicely refreshing flavor as expected. It provides a decent throat hit and isn't overly biting like some other ejuices with the same name I've tasted. Of course, all menthols you've sampled are nicely refreshing, that's not what separates Apollo's Menthol flavor from the pack. This is: if you've ever smoked a menthol cigarette in your life, you'll know that this one emulates that precise flavor and does it with flying colors. Hence it's the second on my list, right after the beloved French Vanilla, although I never really liked menthol cigarettes much.

Classic Tobacco Menthol – It gives you a decent throat hit, and has a good taste. You'll have to try just a bit harder if you want to find tobacco flavor here. Menthol is generally a dominant flavor and seems to cover everything else you mix it with. If you like menthol, you'll find this one excellent, though. If, on the other hand, you wanted to make what it says on the bottle, then here's too little of the former and too much of the latter in it. I suggest renaming: Classic Menthol Tobacco. Joke aside, this one is one very good flavor. The ratio of ingredients is nothing but a matter of personal preference anyway.

Classic Tobacco  Although it is a bit difficult for me to review tobacco flavors after almost three years of vaping  in which I got used to fruit and desert flavors and don't vape tobacco today, this one is decent.

Throat hit is sufficient, but not biting, there is enough of tobacco bitterness with it but not too much, and a  barely felt, sweet undertone after the exhale. Now this last thing might not sit all too well with brand new vapers, but Apollo does have one or two 100% tobacco flavors for them like Simply Tobacco.

Apollo e-liquid review

This Pinacolada was, according to its makers, meant to be a non-alcoholic version of the favorite tropical drink. Now, the smell is delicious and recognizable, but having tried already three pinacolada e-liquids (at least the three I can remember), I can say that there is something in this juice that it would have been better without. When making pinacolada they shouldn't have insisted on the throat hit. It subdues the delicious combination of pineapple and coconut I used to enjoy every time, be it an e-juice from Florida, UK or Italy.

I don't know exactly what it is they put in it; all I know is that until the moment I inhaled everything  was perfectly alright and then it turned into something other than what I had expected it be. All in all, it's not bad, it is vapeable but definitely not among my favorites.

Apollo e-Liquids in a Nutshell

Divided in five categories, this is a decent collection of e-juices. You can choose tobacco, menthol/mint, fruit, desert and drink flavors, in 10ml or 30ml bottles.  You can't really miss with these e-liquids: the quality is high, flavors are good, very good or excellent.

It was a pleasure to do this review and be back to French Vanilla again.
