Kanger EVOD Clearomizer

Kanger EVOD Clearomizer Review

We've used Kanger Evod Clearomizers for two months, just replacing coil heads every week or so.

Technical Info

  • capacity: 1.8ml
  • coil resistance available: 1.8 - 2.2 - 2.5 ohm
  • eGo threaded, compatible with all eGo style batteries

Coil heads  - sold in 5 packs of 2.2 or 2.5 ohm separately - aren't exactly the same as Kanger Protank's and Davide's but are compatible. I've been vaping it using both and they work. The difference is in the length of the top part: EVOD's coil heads are shorter. However, it doesn't really matter in terms of performance. None of us have noticed any difference and we even forgot to take track of which of these coil heads were used with which clearomizer.

Anyway, after weeks of Kanger EVOD clearomizer,  we've quite grown to like it. The vapor is smooth. It's not difficult to refill. The only thing to pay attention to - when you want to refill, make sure you take it by the lower (coil head) part. Otherwise you might unscrew only the upper part in which case the remaining e-liquid (if any) will just spill over.

Price is also favorable, especially considering its spare coil heads can be obtained for less than 10$ per 5-pack. After testing these for weeks, here are the results – you can be sure that this five pack will last you for a month, give or take a few days. When the throat hit and vapor weaken it's time to replace your coil-head and it usually occurs after 5-7 days of use.

Now, this is a bottom coil clearomizer and they are generally said to have more vapor and less throat hit. We're happy with it.

Truth be told, we can't really know whether you are going to be fully satisfied with a bottom coil clearomizer like this one. When I compare the throat hit of Kanger EVOD Clearomizer with wickless CE4 on the same standard eGo or EVOD battery, CE4 gives a stronger throat hit, no question about it. So, if you are or were a heavier smoker, you might want to forget about bottom coil clearomizers altogether.  On the other hand, light and moderate smokers may find it a great solution for their needs.

Another thing: with its elegant design and that little window, it gives your e-cig a sleek look whether you use an EVOD or eGo battery.

A few words about Kanger Evod battery usually sold in a kit with this clearomizer - there's no special difference in performance compared with eGo of the same capacity. Kanger looks better in general and has a button flush with the battery surface. It might require some initial adjustment from those of you used to eGo button.

Like eGo, it's sold practically anywhere, so - plenty of reasons to try it at least.
