a unit of electric resistance. Lower value means lower resistance which then causes faster heating of atomizer

stands for: pack a day

Personal Charging Case

Personal Charging Case, or Portable Charging Case - allows you to charge batteries while on the go. In the pic Prosmoke PCC (Prosmoke review)

PEG, EG...

Polyethylene Glycol, Ethylene Glycol, Diethylene Glycol – when people talk about how toxic Propylene Glycol is, that's usually because they confused Propylene Glycol with one of the above mentioned, which are toxic.

This confusion is found in some articles on e-cigarettes, whether just pure ignorance or some ulterior motives are involved.

PG Propylene Glycol

a colorless, almost odorless, clear and viscous liquid with a faintly sweet taste, an ingredient that either alone or in combination with vegetable glycerine makes a base liquid for e-juice.

PG is used in pharmaceutical and food products for general consumption. Some people might be alergic to it (the same people who are alergic to products of everyday use that contain PG, like some toothpastes, soaps, lotions). Alergy symptoms are mild, however, if that’s your case, you should look for e-juice with Vegetable Glycerin base.

PT, passthrough

Same as USB passthrough below, e-cigarette with USB charger that plugs directly into a a USB port to provide constant power to the device

PV or personal vaporizer

another name for electronic cigarette, vaping device

pyrex glass

Kanger Protanks, Davide Glassomizer

material of which bodies of some clearomizers are made (Kanger Protanks, Davide Glassomizers etc). It's a   clear, low-thermal-expansion borosilicate glass. Also used for laboratory glassware, kitchenware and in reflective optics in astronomy applications.

Smoker's Halo cig (UK), NJOY Pro, Safecig, Smoke 51 Trio.

starter kit

Apollo Endeavor Kit

Basic starter kit includes a battery, a USB charger and cartomizer or clearomizer. Proper starter kits usually have at least two batteries and cartos or clearos, USB charger and wall adapter. If sellers mean business, they will also include "fuel"  - ejuice or cartos, depending on the type of the vaping device. Better starter kits come with some additions like car charger, portable charging case or carrying case.

sub-ohm vaping

Aspire Atlantis Sub Ohm Tank with CF Sub Ohm Battery

Vaping using tanks that have atomisers with less than 1 Ohm resistance. Appeared in recent couple of years.

You'll love it only if your vaping style is direct lung inhale (DL), unlike mouth to lung (MTL), and you are into"volume vaping" (You want your vapor to be visible from another planet, right?) To each his own.

Such tank come with higher capacity battery like this one in the picture.

Kanger Aerotank

a tube to hold e-liquid, with cartomizer in the middle of of it which has a hole punched in the bottom. When you inhale, vacuum suction draws e-liquid from the tank into the cartomizer through the hole. An e-cigarette tank can hold more e-liquid than regular cartomizers. (4ml, even 7ml)

Kanger Aerotank

TH, throat hit

sensation in the back of your throat when you inhale vapor, mainly depending on nicotine level and quality of e-liquid.

topping off

adding a few drops of e-liquid into a cartridge/cartomizer/ tank

variety pack

cartomizer variety pack

cartomizer pack usually sold by e-cig suppliers as a part of starter kit or separately. Contains most frequently used flavors. Usually tobacco classic, gold, menthol, vanilla and some fruit flavors. In the picture - Greensmoke variety pack with a designer battery.

VG  Vegetable Glycerin

Virgin Vapor e-liquid, 100% VG, or 50VG-50PG

also known as Glycerol - not to be confused with "Glycol"

a colorless, nearly odorless, clear and viscous liquid with a faintly sweet taste, often used in electronic cigarette liquids as base liquid, whether in combination with PG (see above) or alone. People alergic to PG use VG instead. Provides more vapor but less throat hit.

Extensively used in food industry, as a solvent, sweetener, preservative, thickening agent, filler in commercially prepared low-fat oods (e.g., cookies) etc. Also used in medical, pharmaceutical and personal care products.

VV variable voltage

variable voltage

(Wiki: Voltage, electric potential difference, electric pressure or electric tension is the difference in electric potential between two points.)

Here, when setting it for yourself in penstyle batteries, you usually choose between the 4 options between 3.3 to 4.8 or more V; in mods the range is offered.

VW variable wattage

variable wattage

The watt (symbol: W) is a unit of power. It is used to quantify the rate of energy transfer.

Here - you can set your wattage in advanced personal vaporizers like mods. On the left, variable wattage display on  SmokXPro  battery (our review).

clearomizer with visible wicks

Made of fiberglass, silica or cotton (they say the cotton wicks are safer) this part of atomizer  is what draws e-liquid into the heating element.

DIY-ers among you buy it and replace their old wicks. In some clearomizers (like CE4, some models of it) it is clearly visible.
